For 153 years, our YMCA has stood as a place of hope, belonging, and opportunity for everyone in our community. Since 1873, we’ve walked alongside generations of families—supporting them through change, challenge, and growth. In 2026, our work continues, and we are inviting you to be part of what comes next.
Every day, children in our community face food insecurity. Through our feeding programs, after‑school meals, and summer food support, the Y ensures kids have the nourishment they need to thrive—body, mind, and spirit. When newcomers and internationals arrive in the New River Valley, our International programs offer connection, resources, literacy and language support, and a welcoming hand that helps them build a new home. And throughout the year, our Y provides outreach, education, wellness, youth development, and community programs that strengthen the fabric of this region we love.
This is what 153 years of service looks like: neighbors helping neighbors, children discovering their potential, and community members finding a place to belong.
